First Things First

Christian-Harmony-Logo-1Shaped Note Folks

I want to bring you all up to date on the new edition of our 1873 Christian Harmony . The printer is having to redo 3 sections of the book and at last report has told us to expect a Nov. 25th delivery date. In the future I will avoid having a book printed in the Fall of the year. Christmas rush begins in September! [/pullquote]

The good news is that we have been promised books in time for our special dedication singing to be held Dec. 5 at the Arts Center in downtown Marshall. http://madisoncountyarts.com/events/christian-harmony-songbook-dedication-singing/ It would be great to have a good turnout so come and tell all your friends.

The other bit of good news is that I have pretty well completed the new website for the book. I have taken the “under construction” signs down and think it is ready except for setting up links to other sites. That’s where I would like to ask for some help. If you have time please take a look at the book website www.christianharmony1873.org and tell me if find any mistakes, problems with clarity, bad links, factual errors and in general anything that would improve the site. Web design has been pretty much my full-time occupation for the past two weeks and I am in much need of having fresh eyes look at the site. The other thing is that if you have some links to other sites of interest, I would love to hear from you as I finalize the Links page.

Otherwise, things are looking pretty good on the publicity front. We do have some commitments from local journalists and am concentrating on getting the word out far and wide. I have a press release on the website but I would like hear from you if you have any suggestions about who I might contact to get the word out about the new book.

Also we are now set up to take credit card payments, both on the website and in person. I’ll be testing it soon and have my fingers crossed. When I have time, I am also setting up a Blog page on the website to communicate and let folks know what’s upcoming etc. Way too busy  here but things should calm down soon. Back in July, I thought I might knock this project out in a couple of weeks . . . Unreal !!!

As the time draws near I want to thank all of you for support and help. We WILL have books for the next generation of singers.
